STYLE PROFILE: GONZO...THE KRYLON KUTIE

If Lord of the Rings were a subculture of international graffiti artist, we would refer to them as Aerosol Warfare… Band of Graffiti connoisseurs led by the princes of krylon (and biz partners) Christian and Gonzo… Collectively combining their sprayed on visual canvases on the streets and ‘hoods’ of Houston, Texas (as well as other places in the world, too many to name though.) We remember them when they sprayed little messages barley seen by the roving eye on city streets that entailed a picture of a razor blade with the slogan “give up”, to now evolved boom boxes, mural houses, and car hoods….

I caught up with Mr. Gonzo and his funky fresh to def style at the Aerosol Warfare exhibit showing their latest collection of urban art. Besides the ambiance being on point reminding me of a hidden back alley gallery party in Downtown L.A., His garb was just as eccentric as his pieces. We love Gonzo of Aerosol Warfare, because anyone who can rock a necklace intricately pieced by spray can tops, (which by the way I want one!) and graffiti infused chuck tailors, should be hailed as this seasons new little black dress!
Gonzo reminds us of old Run DMC tapes blaring out of a silver double deck boom box, pumpkin empanadas, Voss water (in the glass bottle), those intricately placed paint spots on the garage floor, a pair of Cheap Monday jeans, and 1967 Chevy camaro with 22’s. Yeah something like that…
